New Life Asian Outreach

New Life Asian Outreach began when Len and Alice Young felt a calling to tell the people in the Philippines about Jesus Christ. NLAO is based in Maglanbing, Tagbina Surigao del Sur, which is three hours from Davao on the island of Mindenao. Since its inception in 1997, the minisry currently has seventeen churches establisted, one Christian Academy, three Bible schools, and an orphanage. NLAO also ministers in the local prison and conduct’s youth and children’s outreaches. Avenues for sponsors to fund a child’s education through the public school system are also available.
The children of some of the inmates have no family outside of the prison to care for them. In many cases, they go to prison with their parents; and some babies are born behind prison walls. Seeing the need for change, the Youngs brought the children into their home. Property was purchased and a new orphange was built so they could expand the ministry to care for more children.
This is just one example of how one outreach often springs from another. When NLAO began, there was not academy, orphanage or Bible schools; but as Len and Alice sought the Lord and were sensitive and obedient to His word and the Holy Spirit, each area of ministry began to expand. NLAO continues to grow as the Youngs see the Lord’s will in the Philippines.
